From a sunny, Saturday morning in MO,
Yesterday was FULL!
We had a good night of sleep thanks to Tylenol and the girls not awakening until almost 6:00. We still stayed in bed (after they had been outside) until probably 7:30 or later.
Jim joined the old men for breakfast and I headed out to do a few errands. I ended up not getting to go to Ruth's birthday get together as I had something else come up.
Jim headed to Excelsior Springs about 12:30 on the girls' track bus while I headed out of town after 1:00. The weather was great - warm, but not hot and even in the evening, I only added a light jacket over my t-shirt.
There was a diversity of schools present - some larger schools and a few smaller schools - and the track teams ranged from very productive to those who didn't perform quite as well. It is an interesting meet in that several of the schools there we will see again at conference, district, or possibly sectional - so it gives a good idea of what is coming up in the future weeks.
We got back to Chillicothe about 11:00, but went by the stadium so Jim could see to the unloading of the pole vault poles (he didn't carry them, but made sure they got off the bus). The kids had done a good job of loading them, but had run into an obstacle in that the girls' bus was backed into its parking area such that the poles could not be loaded - therefore were on the boys' bus, but the head girls' coach didn't know this - and I don't think the kids had told Jim either. That communication problem will need to be worked out.
Jim has mowed the yard this a.m. and we have done a few errands. We just pulled in an e-mail that an audio book that he wanted (I had donated before he had listened to it) was back in so we are getting ready to head to the library now. I am sure that the afternoon will bring a long nap.
Be safe.
