belated Sat. April 15

Actually this is the 16th, but thought I would catch you up on Saturday.

We had a good night, did errands, dozed, met Helen for lunch at the new Chinese buffet, and in general didn't have a great deal to show for work - just what we needed.

We had storms in the forecast last evening and at first they were in the general area of KC - then began moving to the east and northeast. About 9:00, I fixed a basket of items in case we needed to go to the sheltered area in the basement - leashes, collars, house phone, cell phone, charger, Jim's billfold, my purse, etc. - and by about 10:00, we decided the time had come - and about then the sirens went off - is this the second or third time this spring?

We spent about 20 minutes in the basement. We didn't seem to have any wind damage so we came out okay.

Helen and Stan were not so lucky. A storm moved through their area about 9:00 and about the time they decided to head to their basement, the wind had died down. Looking outside, Stan noticed what seemed to be strangely shaped hail - which turned out in morning light to be the "sof-it" (or covering that goes under the eaves) along with insullation (spelling) that had been blown out. They had a lot more wind than we did, but it didn't last long. Stan has already called the insurance company this (Sun.) a.m. as well as taken photos.

I should be back on later today.

B.
