Thurs. Aug. 3
From a warm, but not hot and muggy MO,
This has been a full day. Jim used Tylenol PM last night and I didn't hear him or the girls until almost 6:30 this a.m. I needed that good night of sleep.
We had six or seven at breakfast this a.m. - Pat, Clara, Mary D., Mary W., Margaret, Jean, and yours truly. I am probably forgetting someone, but just chalk that up to old age.
Jim and I got out afterwards and did a couple of errands and then ended up going to the new coffee/cafe for a delightful lunch - quiche, salad, and fruit. Jim felt out of place as there were probably 20 ladies eating - with him being the only male except for one of the servers. I think he still enjoyed the meal and knew almost all the ladies that were scattered around.
A cousin on my mom's side called this afternoon. She is visiting her folks in Marceline and had flown in from Canada on Monday. She and her mom came over to do some shopping and then they came to our place to show us some recent wedding photos taken at St. Catherine's, Canada (where my paternal great, great grandparents lived for about 15 or so years prior to our Civil War.)
John Wheeler was over for a brief time this afternoon - returning a Kinky Friedman book that Doug has sent to Jim.
Jim had requested no-fat refried bean burritos for supper and I fixed a layered lettuce/pea/salad this a.m. - so supper was a breeze.
Jim has rehab on Friday a.m. and then will join the second breakfast group for breakfast. We will first take my car down to Barnes Baker to get a part put on it - then it should be ready to go again.
Be safe.
