Thurs. Dec. 21
From what turned out to be a sunny, comfortable day in MO,
We stayed up late (for us) Wednesday night watching the Texas basketball game. Needless to say, I wasn't ready to get up early this a.m.
The four of us did walk a little after 7:30. After showering, Jim took the girls and headed to McDonald's and I sort of wore something better than normal and headed to the McGinnis home for our Christmas brunch. We had a total of 14 present with catered food from Piece of Cake - Sandy had fixed some flavored butter and had the juice and coffee. When we were through eating, Mary Willis played the piano and led us in the singing of Christmas carols.
Sandy's daughter-in-law's grandfather had died on yesterday so Jarod had his family tucked away in the van by 5:00 this morning in Spencer, Iowa and arrived at the home a little after 11:00. They were to leave after lunch to go on to southwest Missouri to join Gretchen's family.
Jim and I went to El Toro for lunch today (brought home enough for our lunch on Friday) and afterwards Jim came home with the food and I headed over to the library for the monthly meeting.
Thank goodness for leftovers tonight as I really wasn't in the mood to cook.
We are going to do several errands on Friday and then call it a day.
I tried printing the photo that Kay took of the group in this blog, but didn't have any luck. I guess I need to save it to a disc and then bring it up for the blog.
Be safe.
