From a HOT, MUGGY MO,
This has been a relatively good day for us. Jim dozed again in the recliner last night. The girls didn't get my attention until almost 5:00 this a.m. - and this was more my moving around than their getting my attention. I enjoyed their cuddling in bed until 6:45 when I crawled out so as to walk the surface streets.
The temperature wasn't that terribly warm, but the humidity was staggering. The air felt like a ton of weight on me. Needless to say, by the time I had finished the 1.25 mile trek, I was soaking wet.
Jim had rehab this a.m. and then joined the second group of guys for breakfast - GRI did have oatmeal this a.m. for a change.
We got out about 10:30 to walk the perimeter of WalMart and then went by HyVee to get a few food items and to again take advantage of the "old geezer" discount.
We have spent the rest of the day basically dozing and reading. I have been outside this late afternoon to pick a few tomatoes and to get the garbage ready for in the a.m. - came in soaking wet - probably wasn't out of the house for more than 10 minutes.
I join the ladies for breakfast in the a.m. and beyond that we don't have much planned. I'm sure we will walk the perimeter of WalMart again tomorrow - and then we are to begin seeing some relief from the heat. Saturday a.m. is actually to be in the upper 60s - should be a delightful walk and not hard on Jim.
Abby has helped me write this as she is stretched out across my lap with her head on my left arm. She and Trixie have become quite adept at getting personal attention.
Be safe.
