Sun. & Mon. Feb. 4 & 5

From another two days of deep freeze in MO,

We opted to make a quick trip to Cabela's on Sunday. We left here with the plan of stopping at Perkins in St. Joseph for a good breakfast and then going on to Cabela's. The breakfast was good and we just beat the crowd so we didn't have to wait for a table. Jim quickly found what he was looking for (new pair of shoes) and we were on our way home. We were basically lazy in the afternoon and of course watched the Super Bowl in the evening.

Today we made a morning outing to the Y to walk. It seemed as if more people were there than usual, but that was okay. After cleaning up, we made a trip to McDonald's for an egg biscuit and then did three or four errands (of course the girls were with us on this outing -- toooo cold for them when we went to the Y.)

We ended up going to Applebee's for salads (actually half salads) for lunch. I had called in a phone survey and we had $3.00 off - then when our bill came it had already been paid for - a former student that both of us had enjoyed had picked up the tab. I am guessing we saw the "old goats" and felt sorry for us.

We dozed this afternoon as we are looking forward to the Texas basketball game this evening - comes on in about 5 minutes.

We have a series of errands for tomorrow, packing, delivering the girls to the kennel, and if we have the energy will shampoo the carpet upstairs before we go to bed.

We are thinking about leaving a little earlier than needed on Wednesday a.m. and eating a good breakfast at either Cracker Barrel or Perkins (St. J or Liberty) before going on to the airport. We have an 11:00 flight that puts us in to LA about 12:30 (2:30 our time) and I know I will be famished. My old stomach just doesn't deal with hunger very well anymore so maybe a good breakfast will help.

I may not be back on the computer until the 12th or 13th -

Be safe.
B.
