Mon. Aug. 21
From an almost temperate MO evening,
Last evening we began to get suspicious that maybe the a/c wasn't working. We have ceiling fans and knew we could get through the night ---
I called our local dealer about 7:15 this a.m. and left a message that we thought there was a problem, but we wouldn't be home to open up until 9:30 -- Jim had rehab and I had the computer work for Mobile Meals.
It didn't take long until after 9:30 for the workman to determine that we had a serious problem with our 18 year old a/c - so we ended up exchanging it for a heat pump - which we had considered getting a year ago. Two of the office men arrived about 1:30 to do the installation - all regular workers had assigned jobs and by a little after 6:00 - we had cool air again. It will take awhile for the house to cool down, but we should have a good night of sleep.
Jim really struggled at his rehab this morning. I think he really overdid it on Saturday evening as he was trying to vacuum. I am not sure if he will want to walk Tuesday a.m., but I hope to get the walk done.
We ended up taking the girls to the kennel as we didn't want to worry about a gate being open - or their active barking at all the commotion going on in THEIR backyard. We will pick them up in the a.m.
I left here about 3:00 to head over to one of my cousin's that lives south of Bucklin. We are working on a "packet" to put out relative to the just past Jobson reunion. I will do a little more xeroxing tomorrow and hopefully will get the information mailed on Wednesday. I got back a little before 6:00.
I had "fried" chicken last evening (not really fried, but almost makes you think it was fried) and used some of the leftovers on a good lettuce salad tonight.
We have several errands to do on Tuesday a.m. and then we will pick up the girls - and enjoy their company. I don't know how errands can accumulate so quickly, but they seem to do so.
Be safe.
